The Race to the South Pole: Why Should Anyone Be Led by You?
The race to the South Pole at the beginning of the 20th century came down to three contenders: Shackleton, Scott, and Amundsen, each with different approaches to leadership, project management, and innovation.
In this session, we will explore:
- What motivated these explorers and what enabled success for one but led others to end in failure?
- What can we learn from their different approaches that applies to our own personal, team, and business leadership challenges?
- Most importantly, in our own positions of responsibility and authority today, how would we respond to the simple, but tough question “why should anyone be led by you?”
